My books
Writing is an extension of my professional work.
Through my books, I aim to raise awareness of psychological violence, workplace bullying, coercive control and the hidden impact of trauma. Drawing from years of professional experience, each book explores real-life dynamics that often remain unseen, helping readers recognise harmful patterns, better understand the effects of abuse and feel less alone in their experiences.

Things I Wanted to Say (Όσα ήθελα να πω – Stories from the Everyday Life of a Social Worker
My first book is a collection of stories inspired by real experiences from social work practice. It explores a wide range of social issues, including disability, grief, child abuse, sexual violence, workplace bullying and sexual harassment, highlighting the emotional realities behind professional practice.
First published in 2022, the book was released in a second edition in 2023 following its positive reception by readers.

Behind Locked Doors (Πίσω από τις Κλειδωμένες Πόρτες)
My second book focuses on psychological violence, coercive control and abusive relationship dynamics inspired by true stories. It helps readers recognise less visible forms of abuse, understand how manipulation operates and identify pathways towards safety, support and recovery.
The book has also been translated into English and is currently under international literary representation.
Both books are available on Goodreads, where you can find readers' reviews and ratings
Media & Interviews
Both books by Efstratia Gountoudaki have been featured on ERT's Second Programme (Deftero Programma), on Dimitris Meidanis' show, as part of discussions surrounding violence, abuse, social work, and the human stories they bring to light.
